Tony Docherty has been drawing caricatures of school friends and teachers as far back as the 80s. Fast forward to 1998, I started to take my drawing seriously and took a college course on cartooning and illustration in the dream of drawing cartoon strips for the newspapers. I was drawing gift caricatures for friends and family. I started advertising in large factories, warehouses and offices before the days of social media. I then had enquiries from entertainment agencies regarding live drawing at events. 2004 saw me drawing at my first wedding and The Kilted Caricaturist was created and 2012 saw social media help with advertising and business has gone from strength to strength.
